Green AI in Action – Building Europe’s Sustainable AI Infrastructure
AI is powerful—but power-hungry. This session focuses on how AI can be developed and deployed with sustainability in mind. From low-emission training pipelines to eco-aware applications, participants will discover how to reconcile high-performance AI with environmental responsibility—crucial for a European vision of ethical tech leadership.
Presentations:
AI in Wood-Based Panel Production
In our presentation, we highlight the transformative role of AI in wood-based panel manufacturing and how it optimizes the production process, leading to resource savings during production. The EVORIS platform offers various AI applications, such as anomaly detection and quality prediction. Despite the high-dimensional data space, suitable preprocessing methods and targeted feature engineering make it possible to use small AI models, thereby conserving energy during training.
RescHKI – Resource efficiency with HPC and AI
The RescHKI project involves pilot projects that improve resource efficiency with the help of high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence. An overview of the possibilities offered by the technologies themselves will be provided and one of the pilot projects will be presented. This project uses artificial intelligence to significantly accelerate its complex aeroacoustic simulations and calculate larger models.
