Dr.-Ing. Julius Pfrommer is head of a research group at Fraunhofer IOSB and the scientific lead of the Competence Center KI-Engineering (CC-KING).
His group works on the application of AI in challenging industrial environments, particularly in the interface of machine learning and control / systems theory.
With a background in Industrial Engineering (degrees from KIT and Institut National Polytechnique in Grenoble), his PhD on distributed planning was awarded in 2019 with distinction (summa cum laude) by the department of computer science at KIT.
At KIT, Dr. Pfrommer holds a lecture „Optimization Methods for Machine Learning and Engineering“ on the mathematics of convex optimization that underpins much of the research in the field.
